The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation (RMEF) aided in the purchase of 19 Ruger American rifles for the Wyoming Game and Fish Department’s Forever Wild Families program. The purchase was made by way of the $3,000 grant the organization was awarded from the RMEF for Hunter Heritage and Conservation Outreach.
Through this program, the Wyoming Game and Fish Department (WGFD) provides a safe and educational environment for those wanting to educate themselves about hunting and outdoor survival skills. By providing young individuals and their families with proper mentorship, the program does a great job of not only developing new anglers and hunters; it also creates lifelong members who support the WGFD and partner organization such as the RMEF.
“The availability of high-quality equipment through the RMEF grant is a big contributor to the success of this recruitment program. We greatly appreciate RMEF’s donation and support of our efforts to educate and recruit new sportsmen and sportswomen. Passing on the hunting heritage benefits all wildlife management,” said Renny MacKay, Game and Fish Communications Director.
