Province Proposed Wolf Hunting with No Limits in British Columbia’s Peace Region

As of this publication, hunters in the Peace Region of British Columbia are only able to take three wolves per year, but the province’s Ministry of Forestry, Lands and Natural Resource Operations in proposing a change.

On November 30, 2015, the proposed change that would remove limits from wolf hunting in the area was proposed online.

Ministry reports reveal that approximately 275 wolves were taken annually by hunters in the region between 2000 and 2010, equating to about 14% of the local population. The ministry believes that the current population could support double the amount of current hunting.
