Montana Man Gets Jail Time for Poaching Two Bull Elk

Casey T. McGee of Great Falls, Montana has plead guilty to illegally killing two bull elk in the Elkhorn Mountains after being charged last year.

He is charged with two misdemeanor counts of hunting without a valid permit and a misdemeanor charge of illegal possession of a game animal.

In total, his sentence includes fines, restitution and surcharges of more than $5,000; 18 months in jail and the loss of his hunting, fishing and trapping privileges for five years.

In addition to the above charges, McGee also plead guilty to trespassing to collect elk antlers in Teton, Cascade and Gallatin counties as well as poaching a cow elk in Choteau County just last year.
