Eight Men Receive 77 Charges Stemming from Illegal Black Bear Hunting

That’s right; West Virginia’s Natural Resources Police laid down 77 charges of violations on eight men stemming from a variety of alleged illegal bear hunting activities that took place between May and September of 2015.

Mark Allen Lampka Jr. and Chad Fridley of Mount Storm, Daniel Boddy, Dustin Knaggs and James Scott Kuhn of New Creek, Steve Thomas Lyons Jr. of Elk Garden, Ronnie P. Bothwell of Burlington and Terry Kuh of Maysville were all charged with a variety of hunting violations following the investigation by Natural Resources Police.

Among the 77 charges, the accused were collective charged with four counts of illegal trapping of bear, nine counts of illegal killing of bear, 16 counts of illegal possession of bear and seven counts of spotlighting bear.  The other charges included conspiring to violate Chapter 20 of the West Virginia State Code and other game law violations.
