With city streets lined with signs alerting residents of the newly-enacted fine for feeding deer, the town of Ashland has made the news again this week.
This time, a whitetail deer got herself stuck in the “Y” of a tree while running through a residential backyard on Wednesday. I can only speculate on the thought process of the deer at that time, but I assume she figured she could hop on through the opening of the tree, but instead got her hips stuck between the trunks.
Members of the Ashland Police Department were called and with the help of a local resident, were able to safely free the deer by using a car jack to separate the tree branches.
I certainly hope no one was trying to feed the deer prior to her getting stuck!
