“You are not an artist, you are a cunt.”

That is just one of the many comments hurled toward 23 year-old Casey Nocket on her Instagram profile where she proudly displays images of herself defacing rock formations in various National Parks.

All told, she defaced formations in seven national parks in four federal districts:  the District of Colorado, the Eastern District of California, the District of Oregon and the District of Utah.  Using acrylic paints and markers she sketched her brand of ‘art’ accompanied with hashtags reading #NatureIsGay and #whatsupbanksy, referring to the popular street artist, who also knowingly breaks the law.

The San Diego native was formally sentenced this week to two years probation and 200 hours of community service.  The probation also bans her from any lands administered by the National Park Service, the U.S. Forest Service, the Bureau of Land Management and the Army Corps of Engineers.

A second hearing is expected in the near future which will determine the amount of restitution Nocket will be on the hook for the damage her artwork caused.
