Two Men Charged with Illegally Hunting Using a Helicopter

helicopter

A tip came in during the fall of 2015 about a helicopter being used to hunt big game in Newfoundland and Labrador.  After the department of Justice and Public Safety searched the reported site, the helicopter was then seized by authorities and released the following day after evidence was collected.

Jeffery Byrne and Daniel Byrne are facing charges after being accused of using an aircraft to hunt, possessing a big game animal and possessing a loaded firearm in an aircraft.

The helicopter originally belonged to Canadian Helicopters Limited and was seized on a Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro property.

The two men are expected to appear in court at the end of the month.
