Video: Yes, You Can Start a Fire with a Lemon

  The folks at North Survival posted a video last week demonstrating the firepower of…a lemon. Using just six copper clips, six nails, a piece of wire and steel wool, the young man in the video used the electricity created from the lemon to heat the steel wool hot enough to eventually start a small fire. “This is an awesome survival tip that you don´t want to miss,” he said. WVU Freshman & NCAA Rifle Champion Got Her Start in a Deer Stand

Ginny Thrasher, a 5’1” freshman from Springfield, Virginia swept the smallbore and air rifle individual titles at last weekend’s NCAA Rifle Championships held in Akron, Ohio. After taking the individual titles in both disciplines, she becomes only the third shooter in history to accomplish the feat, all while helping her team earn the 18Th national championship for WVU. Ann Arbor Wraps Up First Deer Cull

After two months of intense controversy, protests and litigation, the city of Ann Arbor, Michigan has concluded its first deer cull across 14 of the city’s parks. In addition to this initial cull, the city is planning annual culls as part of a four-year deer management program. Officials reported that 63 deer were killed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s shooters. These sharpshooters had instructions to kill up to 100 deer as part of this cull as the city aims at removing deer and decreasing negative deer-human interactions.
